Chapter 11 Marriage and Seduction

at #2 Heritage Trail - home of Pendillis Ryan-Genester (continued from Chapter 6)

After spending a night of love with Pendillis, Cleve Wilson (popularity-age 48) vowed to renew his offer of marriage to her as soon as he returned from work. When he got home that evening, as soon as he had cleaned up and changed clothes, he called Pendillis and all the kids into the family room. There, with the children as witnesses, Cleve went to his knees and proposed to Pendillis.

Pendillis (gen 2-knowledge-age 48) looking around at her children's grinning faces, as well as into her own heart, couldn't say no this time and leaped into his arms.

The children all heartily approved.

Way to go, man!

They were all so excited that they immediately began making plans and preparing the house for the wedding while Pendillis called up her mother and siblings to invite them. The new patio in back of the house with its huge swimming pool and lovely flower garden was deemed the best place to have it.

By the time the guests arrived everything was in readiness and a lovely ceremony ensued.

The guests assemble

The nearby cemetary with its solitary gravestone was a reminder of what had gone before as the couple said their vows.

I vow to be a good and faithful husband.

Little Fletcher was late arriving and even brought his good clothes out to the patio to scramble into them right in front of everyone, just as Pendillis was saying her final vows. He was so excited about Cleve becoming an official part of his family that he had decided to take a bath first and almost missed all of it.

But he was the most enthusiastic clapper at the end when Cleve and Pendillis sealed their vows with a kiss.

Wow, that's my Mom! She looks so beautiful.

The party lasted well into the night with the last guest not leaving until 3 AM. All Pendillis's siblings as well as her mother were there. And of course daughter Bertillis attended. And Pendillis's nephew Kester was there also. So it was a family reunion as well as a wedding. Many of the guests tried out the new pool, which was the first private pool in the neighborhood. Kester took the opportunity to get to know his daughter, Cosetta. Even though he could never acknowledge her did not mean he did not love her. He had often thought about her since her birth and longed to know her though he had never felt free to visit without an invitation and those had not been forthcoming until now.

The hired limo never showed up for the honeymoon but Cleve and Pendillis didn't care. They had their honeymoon right there at home after everyone else was gone or asleep. Surprisingly, even though Cleve was a popularity sim, his first want after the wedding was for a baby. Pendillis, ever happy to accommodate a loved one, readily agreed, even though she was nearly at menopause. And their second night of love resulted in them hearing a chiming lullaby as they fell asleep.

Janeesis (gen 3- knowledge -age 18) was now the eldest child at home. She had wanted to get into private school ever since she was old enough to know what it was. Finally Pendillis agreed that they were in a financial position good enough that it could be done. Their home was completed after all these years and was a credit to the neighborhood. So Headmaster Vince Walters was invited for dinner. All five children made a special effort to impress him once he arrived and Pendillis prepared a fine turkey dinner.

After dinner, Chester, the oldest son, offered a tour of the house but Headmaster Walters declined, saying he had already seen enough to know that they would be a fine addition to his school.

The family all retired to bed satisfied with their lives. Everyone but BJ. During the night he appeared again. Just standing by the desk where his urn had been. (Prior to the wedding, his remains had been moved to the cemetary plot and a new tombstone erected.) Finally, when the sun came up next morning and Cleve had left for work, B.J. floated up to his bed where Pendillis was still asleep. He jumped in and did a little yelling but didn't wake her.

Then he toured the house checking out all the improvements made since his death. He seemed especially interested in the new swimming pool
.

When the kids returned home from school Janeesis sensed his presense. She spent the afternoon trying to get him to speak to her through the teddy bear, but to no avail. He didn't appear to anyone, just watched. When the sun set he returned to his final resting place in the cemetary.

Eldest daughter Bertillis had moved out and gotten a place of her own. She found an abandoned and delapidated old country church near the edge of town and bought it. It had a nice piece of land with it and cost nearly all of her inheritance but she thought it would make a wonderful party pad when she got it fixed up. She loved the old bell tower and the four stained glass windows. The siding was faded to a silver gray but she knew all it would take was a coat of paint to fix that up. The foundation was a little shaky and it took much of her remaining money to get that fixed, but the roof was sound.

The interior was as timeworn as the exterior but all she could afford to do was have a toilet installed. That, a double bed and a phone were the extent of her furnishings.

Her first act on moving in was to call her Aunt Estarr's husband, Chandler Platz. He was a landscape gardener and she asked him to come over and advise her on future landscaping. She had been fascinated with him for a couple of years and had always sought him out to talk to at family gatherings. But he had always treated her like a child. Well, she was totally grown up now and she intended that he acknowledge it. She put on her favorite outfit, a light pink sheer lace halter that left nothing to the imagination, and low cut, skintite, hot pink stretch capris. When Chandler arrived, he nearly choked when he saw her and received a welcoming hug.

He had a really hard time keeping his eyes on her face while they talked about landscaping. It wasn't long before Bertillis was putting the moves on him...

And he was putty in her hands.

In no time she had him inside trying out her only piece of furniture.

Before he left that afternoon, she had coaxed him into loaning her money and materials to do some needed fix-ups on her home (like adding a shower in the bath and some kitchen cabinets and appliances) and to come over frequently to assist with the renovations. Of course she had no intention of paying him back the money. At least not in cash.

Pendillis is getting pretty old to be having babies. Will all be well with this pregnancy? Will B.J. ever learn to do his roaming at night like a normal ghost instead of in the daytime? Will Bertillis fly from man to man as her grandmother does? Stay tuned to All My SimChildren to find out.

Nothing like getting accepted into private school than giving the headmaster some money. =) All those money trees could have helped, too. Great update and loved that bed!
